Urgent Product Recall Alert: You Are in Serious Danger if This Item Is in Your Home

Date :

A chilling danger has emerged from what seems like a household staple. More than 122,000 Werner ladders have just been recalled — and using one could send you crashing.

The hidden risk

Werner’s 20-foot and 24-foot “Multi-Max Pro” multi-purpose ladders (models ALMP-20IAA and ALMP-24IAA) are at the heart of the recall. Their locking mechanism can jam or fail to fully engage, meaning the ladder may collapse unexpectedly. U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission+2AP News+2

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has confirmed the alarm: this defect poses a serious fall hazard. U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission+1

To date, Werner has received 18 reports of ladder collapse incidents. Of those, 14 resulted in injuries ranging from bruising and lacerations to head trauma and fractures of wrists, legs, and ribs. U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission+2AP News+2

The ladders were sold at Home Depot (in stores and online) between November 2021 and February 2024, priced between $200 and $281. U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission+2AP News+2
