A chilling danger has emerged from what seems like a household staple. More than 122,000 Werner ladders have just been recalled — and using one could send you crashing.
The hidden risk
Werner’s 20-foot and 24-foot “Multi-Max Pro” multi-purpose ladders (models ALMP-20IAA and ALMP-24IAA) are at the heart of the recall. Their locking mechanism can jam or fail to fully engage, meaning the ladder may collapse unexpectedly. U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission+2AP News+2

What went wrong — incidents & injuries

- Stop using any Werner Multi-Max Pro ladder you own immediately.
